Hello! I’m Siobháin (think Shiv-awn), a Wānaka-based wedding celebrant & MC hailing from Ireland. Dulcet tones and Irish accent included.
I’m here to help you mark one of the most important moments of your life. No pressure 😉 And if you decide to go with me, I’m going to spend a fair bit of time getting to know you to ensure your ceremony is spot on – so here’s a little bit about me.
One of my favourite parts about being a marriage celebrant & MC is getting to know each couple. All of the detail please. That way, I can help tell your love story in a carefully crafted wedding ceremony that genuinely reflects you two as a couple. When it comes time to say your I Do’s, there’s a careful balance between marking the occasion for what it is and keeping it light, easy, and relaxed. That sweet spot is different for each couple, and I love the challenge of finding the balance and nailing it.
I celebrate marriages, civil unions, wedding blessings, vow renewals and naming ceremonies. Whether you’re after an elopement celebrant or someone to click with you and your guests,, tips for writing your vows or advice on how to include that special guest in your special day, I’ll be there to guide you through the whole process. As well as a ceremony crafted just for you, for every wedding with “Siobháin the Celebrant” I’ll donate a native plant ($8) to Te Kākano Aotearoa Trust. Te Kākano is a community-based nursery who propagate native plants, and use these plants to restore habitats for our native birds and wildlife. Go on, give your marriage roots in Wānaka. Pun intended.

The process of working with her was so easy for us. She really put all the leg work in, sending us reminders of when to do what, guiding us through the whole process and put so much effort into getting to know us as a couple, our vibe and our stories. Our ceremony couldn't have been better if it was run by a friend we'd known for decades. So many of our guests assumed we were friends from way back, as she spoke about so many aspects of our lives with ease and laughter.
We aren't very formal and asked Siobháin to keep the ceremony light, fun, and casual and she delivered perfectly to the brief. She made the ceremony just as relaxed and quirky as we are.
On our wedding day she was such a calming presence, ensuring us she'd take care of everything and walk us through each stage of the ceremony as it went so we didn't have to remember anything ourselves. She was so well organized and helped us get all those tiny last minute details sorted before the ceremony.
She took care of all the legal details and helped us through some odd problems of being born outside of NZ. She explained the whole process perfectly and was always prompt in responding to our questions. She handled the paperwork and logistics for us and kept us up to date as each step was completed.
Overall, we couldn't have asked for anyone better as a celebrant. Thank you so much Siobháin!
