OG Vows.
If saying personal vows as part of your ceremony, just isn’t your thing, that’s totally fine. I get it. Some couples share personal vows at a first look, or write each other a letter for the morning of. Or some don’t feel the need and the act of getting married does all the talking for them.
Here are some vow options to choose from. Feel free to tweak however you like and let me know your preference.
If you want something a bit more poetic, please head to my instagram highlights “Vows” and there are some pieces I’ve gathered from various sources there to help with some inspiration.
❣️ Option 1:
With all my heart, I (Name) take you (Name) to be my partner in life/wife/husband.
I promise to be your lover, companion, and friend,
Your partner in parenthood,
Your ally in conflict
Your greatest fan
I will be your comrade in adventure,
Your comfort in disappointment,
Your accomplice in mischief,
Your strength in times of need
I will listen with understanding, and trust you completely.
All the days of my life
❣️ Option 2:
I believe in you and the couple we are together. With my whole heart, I take you X as my husband / wife / partner, acknowledging and accepting your faults and strengths, as you do mine. I promise to be faithful and supportive and to always make our family’s love and happiness my priority. I will be yours in plenty and in want, in sickness and in health, in failure and in triumph. I will dream with you, celebrate with you and walk beside you through whatever our lives may bring. You are my person — my love and my life, today and always.
❣️Option 3:
I ,Name, take you Name
To be my partner / wife/ husband ,
To have and to hold,
From this day forward;
For better, for worse,
For richer, for poorer,
In sickness and in health,
To love and to cherish,
Till death us do part.
❣️Option 4:
I (name), take you (name),
To be no other than yourself.
Loving what I know of you,
Trusting what I do not yet know.
I will respect your integrity and have faith in your love for me,
Through all our years,
And in all that life may bring us.
In plenty and in want,
In sickness and in health,
In failure and in triumph.
To love and to cherish,
Until death do us part.
